Campaign Receives National Recognition
I’m honored to have been part of the creative team behind the award-winning “The Lou Rides Metro. Will You?” campaign for Citizens for Modern Transit.
I had the opportunity to assist in the design of print materials for the campaign featuring Louie, mascot of the St. Louis Blues, encouraging the St. Louis community to ride Metro and support public transit.
The campaign recently earned national recognition through the Adsposure Transit Awards — an exciting achievement for everyone involved and a proud moment for our region’s creative and transit communities.
I’m grateful to have worked alongside such a talented team and proud to have contributed to a campaign that represented St. Louis on a national stage.

2025 National Recognition for The Hood Magazine Web and Print Design
I’m incredibly honored to share that The Hood Magazine received national recognition from PMA, earning Gold for website design and Silver for overall print magazine design — marking the second consecutive year the publication has been recognized at a high level for excellence in design.
Being part of the creative direction and design of both the website and print publication has been such a rewarding experience. From the clean, inviting website experience to the visually rich and thoughtfully designed print layouts, every detail was created with families and community in mind.
The judges praised the website for its cohesive design, user-friendly event calendar, and inviting layout, while the print magazine was recognized for its powerful visual storytelling, balanced cover designs, strong typography, and effective use of space.
I’m grateful to work alongside such a talented team and proud to help create designs that continue to earn national recognition.
2024 National Recognition for Print Design from the Parenting Media Association
In 2024, I was honored to receive three Silver PMA Awards for my design work with ‘hood Magazine, including one of the most meaningful national recognitions—Silver for Overall Design. This award was especially sweet as we compete against some large staff, big city markets in this category. Judges recognized the full visual identity and layout of the magazine, noting the “wonderful keepsake mentality” created by the smaller format and the consistent use of simple, elegant typography. They highlighted the dynamic type treatments and the way the photography worked in harmony with the design to create a “sensational” visual experience from cover to cover. As the Design and Art Director, it was deeply rewarding to be acknowledged for the intentionality and creativity poured into every page.
Another exciting win came with a Silver in Single-Page Design for the piece Safety & Joy Around Water. This layout was crafted to be both engaging and educational, using vibrant illustrations and bold, clear typography to draw the reader in and make the content easily digestible. The judges praised its colorful, inviting design and the clarity it brought to an important message about water safety and swim education—a great example of how thoughtful design can elevate and clarify vital information.
Lastly, the Silver for Special Section Design was awarded for our Familyfest Fun Cruise 8 page feature, a lively and information-rich spread aimed at helping families connect with local events and businesses. This project was all about making information accessible and fun, and the design reflected that with clean typography, colorful age and location coding, and a large, user-friendly map to help readers plan their day. The judges appreciated how the section balanced function and fun, helping readers easily find what mattered most to them.

With a passion for design ignited during my high school years at a small-town newspaper, I knew it was my calling for life. Over the past two decades, I’ve cultivated a diverse background in design and management across various industries, including publishing, marketing communications, and project management for Fortune 500 corporations.
After graduating from the University of South Dakota in 1996 with a Mass Communications major and a Business minor, I honed my skills in Minneapolis, MN, before settling in South Dakota and eventually Missouri. It was over 20 years ago, with the birth of my daughter, that I delved into the world of creative consulting and freelance design.
From the onset, my client base has grown solely through word of mouth, a testament to the quality and impact of my work. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide, helping them bring their visions to life and establish brands they can be proud of. Balancing artistic expression with business acumen, I thrive on the challenge of building unique brands that resonate with audiences and drive success.
